Tax Adjustments Services Canada
A missing slip or overlooked receipt may require a change to a prior return. We review the original filing and determine the appropriate adjustment process.
Support that starts with your situation.
Reviewing the original return
Compare the filed return, assessment and new information to identify exactly what needs to change.
Preparing a supported change
Use the available CRA adjustment process where appropriate and keep the supporting documents. Some returns and situations require a different submission method.
Following the outcome
Review the resulting CRA correspondence. Processing times and refunds are not guaranteed, and a change can increase or decrease tax.
Frequently asked questions
Will an adjustment always produce a refund?
No. The result depends on the correction. An adjustment may reduce tax, increase tax or have no effect on the balance.
